ThreeBond TB1184 is a one-component liquid gasket designed for sealing applications, effectively preventing leakage of oils, water, and gases under pressure at joining surfaces. It is formulated with a synthetic rubber-based resin and exhibits excellent resistance to various contact fluids, shock, and vibration. The product maintains functionality over a temperature range of -40¬8C to +150¬8C, making it suitable for diverse environments. Before curing, TB1184 has a viscosity of 9.5 Pa.s and a specific gravity of 1.26. After curing, it achieves a hardness of 23 Shore A and an elongation of 1720%. The sealant demonstrates significant pressure resistance, with a maximum of 10.0 MPa at room temperature and retains performance even after exposure to high temperatures. TB1184 is compatible with various materials, including metals and rubber types, and shows minimal mass change when immersed in different chemicals, indicating good chemical resistance. It is particularly effective for applications requiring sealing of surfaces with poor flatness or large gaps, making it a versatile choice for engineers in need of reliable sealing solutions.
TB1184 is a visco-elastic semi-drying sealer which is resistant to oil, water, gasoline and chemicals . Application areas include sealing transmission case covers, motorcycle cases, timing chain cases, side covers, 2-piece cylinders, clutch housing bolts and oil filter mounting surfaces. Since it excels in padding properties, it is highly effective in sealing surfaces with poor flatness or large gaps. TB 1184 is a development of the popular liquid gaskets TB1104 and TB1194, and can be used as a direct replacement in all applications. Also known as Yamabond / Hondabond crankcase sealant.
