Momentive SnapSIL TN8000 is a one-component, fast-curing silicone adhesive sealant that is non-corrosive and cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, forming an elastic silicone rubber. It has a thixotropic paste consistency and provides excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, including metals, plastics, and glass, without the need for primers. The product features a wide operating temperature range from -50 to +200 degrees Celsius and is UL94HB certified for flame retardancy. The uncured sealant has a tack-free time of approximately 20 minutes and, when cured, exhibits a Shore A hardness of 33, tensile strength of 2.2 MPa, and an elongation of 620%. It also demonstrates good dielectric properties with a dielectric strength of 21 kV/mm and a dielectric constant of 3.9. SnapSIL TN8000 is suitable for applications such as insulating adhesive sealing for electrical and electronic components, as well as waterproof sealing for communication equipment.
