Techsil¬Æ STO (stannous octoate) Catalyst 500gm is a clear, yellow liquid with a molecular weight of 405.10 g/mol and a tin content of 28.5 ¬± 0.5%. It is primarily used as a catalyst to accelerate the isocyanate reaction in the production of flexible, semi-rigid, and rigid urethane foams. This product is also effective in promoting the formation of esters and is suitable for various applications, including polyurethane manufacturing, silicone resins, MS polymers, lubricants, powder coatings, oleo chemicals, and biodegradable polymers. The catalyst is miscible in polyols and most organic solvents but is not miscible in alcohols and water. It has a density of 1.26 ¬± 0.01 g/ml and a viscosity of 350 ¬± 80 mPas at 20AöC. Techsil¬Æ STO is specially stabilized to prevent oxidation by air, which can reduce its activity over time. It allows for adjustments in work time and cure rate based on the level used, making it particularly useful for applications requiring fast curing times of one hour or less.
