Momentive RTV560 Red Electronic Silicone +DBT is a two-part silicone elastomer designed for a wide range of applications, particularly in environments requiring both low and high-temperature bonding. This product cures at room temperature and features a useful temperature range from -115¬8C (-175¬8F) to 260¬8C (500¬8F) continuously, with short-term exposure up to 316¬8C (600¬8F). The silicone compound is solvent-free, providing excellent release properties and good adhesion capabilities when used with a primer. The RTV560 has a pourable consistency and a red color, with a cured Shore A hardness of 55. It exhibits a tensile strength of 48 kg/cm¬= (690 psi) and an elongation of 120%. The dielectric strength is measured at 21.2 kV/mm (540 v/mil), making it suitable for electrical applications. The recommended curing agent is dibutyl tin dilaurate (DBT), which allows for variable work times and cure rates, typically providing a pot life of 1.5 to 2.25 hours and a cure time of 24 hours at 25¬8C (77¬8F). This product is ideal for potting and encapsulation of electrical assemblies, thermal insulation, and cast-in-place heat shielding.
RTV560 is a silicone rubber compound from Momentive Performance Materials. It offers excellent release properties and also good adhesion capabilities with the use of a primer. This grade with cure at room temperature and retains its elastomeric properties across a wide temperature range.
