Momentive RTV60/9811 Red Potting Silicone is a two-component silicone rubber compound designed for high-temperature applications. It cures at room temperature and is free of solvents, which eliminates solvent odor. The product exhibits excellent adhesion properties when used with a primer and maintains its elastomeric characteristics across a temperature range of -54¬8C (-65¬8F) to 260¬8C (500¬8F) continuously, with short-term resistance up to 316¬8C (600¬8F). This silicone compound has a viscosity of 47,000 cps in its uncured state and offers a work time of approximately two hours with a cure time of 24 hours at 25¬8C (77¬8F) when using 0.5% dibutyl tin dilaurate (DBT) as a curing agent. It is suitable for potting and encapsulating electric motors and transformers, as well as for fabricating rubber parts and casting molds for low-melting point metals. The product also meets Boeing specifications BMS10-102 and BMS5-62, indicating its reliability for aerospace applications.
