Momentive RTV159 is a one-component, high-strength silicone rubber adhesive sealant that cures to a resilient silicone rubber upon exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. It features a paste consistency, allowing for application on horizontal, vertical, and overhead surfaces. The product is designed for high-temperature performance, with a maximum continuous operating temperature of 260¬8C (500¬8F) and intermittent temperatures up to 315¬8C (600¬8F). RTV159 exhibits excellent weatherability, ozone, and chemical resistance, along with good electrical insulation properties. The sealant has a tack-free time of approximately 45 minutes and achieves a Shore A hardness of 28 upon curing. It offers significant elongation of 825% and a tensile strength of 72.1 kg/cm¬= (1025 lbs/in¬=). The product is suitable for bonding to various clean surfaces without the need for primers, although primers may be recommended for difficult substrates. It is important to note that the sealant should not be used in thicknesses greater than 6mm (1/4 in.) and is not intended for permanent implantation in the human body.
