The E405 series is a hermetically sealed, 4PDT electromechanical relay designed for severe environmental applications in aerospace, defense, and rail systems, built to MIL-PRF-83536. It has a rectangular case measuring 20.6 x 20.6 x 16.3 mm and weighs 26.4 grams maximum, except for Mounting Code 5 which weighs 32.6 grams. The relay operates with a 28 Vdc coil, has an operate and release time of 6 ms maximum, and supports contact ratings up to 5 A for resistive, inductive, and motor loads at 115 Vac or 28 Vdc. Contact voltage drop is 150 mV maximum initial, with dielectric strength of 1,050 Vrms between coil and case. The operating temperature range is -70°C to +125°C, with mechanical life up to 400,000 cycles. Hermetic sealing is rated at 1×10⁻⁸ atm·cm³/s. Initial insulation resistance is 100 MΩ minimum at 500 Vdc.
