The MK15 Series Reed Sensor, part number 97K5133, is designed for surface mount device (SMD) applications, making it suitable for electronic PCBs where all components are surface mounted. It features a compact size of 19.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 mm and is available with flat, straight leads for PCB slot mounting or flat, bent SMD leads. The sensor operates without the need for external power and is UL approved. This reed sensor offers a maximum switching power of 10 W, a switching voltage of up to 200 VDC, and a switching current of 0.5 A. It has a breakdown voltage of 225 VDC and a static contact resistance of 150 mOc. The sensor is capable of withstanding ambient temperatures ranging from -40¬8C to 85¬8C and can endure shock resistance of up to 50 g and vibration resistance of 20 g. The MK15 Series includes various magnetic sensitivity options, allowing for flexibility in application. It is supplied in tape and reel format for automated placement, adhering to IEC standards. This product is particularly well-suited for telecommunication applications, such as hook switches in mobile and hard-wired phones, as well as switching elements in microphones.
