The CP2403 is an LCD controller from Silicon Labs designed to drive up to 64 segments in a 32-pin package or 128 segments in a 48-pin package. It supports various display types, including static and multiplexed displays (2-mux, 3-mux, and 4-mux). The device features on-chip bias generation with an internal charge pump and includes low power blink capability. In addition to its LCD driving capabilities, the CP2403 functions as a GPIO expander, allowing for the expansion of GPIO count by up to 20 pins in the 32-pin package or 36 pins in the 48-pin package. The GPIO pins can be configured for push-pull or open-drain outputs and can also serve as digital inputs. The device operates with a supply voltage range of 1.8 to 3.6 V and has an ultra-low power mode, consuming less than 1.5 OºA in typical operation. The CP2403 includes a real-time clock feature with a programmable counter and wake-up alarm, as well as two general-purpose 16-bit timers. It supports both 4-wire SPI and 2-wire SMBus/I²C interfaces for communication, with the SPI interface capable of operating at speeds up to 2.5 Mbps. The device is available in multiple package options, including Pb-free QFN and QFP formats, and operates within a temperature range of -40 to +85 °C.
