The CP2201-GM is a single-chip Ethernet controller designed for integration into various applications requiring network connectivity. It features an integrated IEEE 802.3 MAC and 10BASE-T PHY, ensuring compatibility with 100/1000BASE-T networks. The controller supports full and half duplex modes with auto-negotiation, automatic polarity detection, and collision management. This device operates with a parallel host interface capable of a 30 Mbps transfer rate, requiring only 11 I/O pins in multiplexed mode. It includes 8 kB of flash memory for non-volatile storage, factory pre-programmed with a unique 48-bit MAC address, eliminating the need for external EEPROM. The CP2201-GM also provides dedicated RAM buffers, with 2 kB for transmission and 4 kB for reception.
