The U.S. Sieves are made of wire mesh material designed to conform to specifications set by the A.S.T.M. (American Society for Testing and Materials). Standard sieve shown has an 8" dia. with 2" depth (1" half-height available). Each sieve made with your choice of the following: brass frame/brass wire cloth, brass frame/stainless wire cloth or stainless frame/stainless cloth. Frames are "Skirted" to nest together. For half-height, standard 3" or 12" dia. request part number listing.

The mesh size comes first, therefore a 40BB8F would be a 40 mesh sieve. The BB stands first for type of cloth/mesh and then the frame; the 40BB8F is a 40 mesh sieve with brass cloth and brass frame. The 8F stands for 8 inch diameter, and F is for full height.
So a 40BB8F sieve will be 40 mesh, brass frame and brass cloth, is 8" in diameter, and will have a full height of 2 inches.
A 50SS12F, for example, will be 50 mesh, stainless cloth and frame, is 12 inches in diameter, and has a full height of 4-1/4" overall. We hope this will help you in selecting the proper sieves for your application.
