CHR¬Æ Cloth-Glass PTFE, Primary Tape SG26-03 from Saint-Gobain Tape Solutions is a high-performance tape made from primary grade fiberglass fabric coated with PTFE and a clean release silicone adhesive. It is designed to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 260¬8C (500¬8F) and is dimensionally stable, resistant to tears, punctures, and abrasion. The tape is available in a thickness of 5 mil and has a total thickness of 0.127 mm. SG26-03 exhibits excellent adhesion to steel at 4.9 N/cm (45 oz/in) and has low elongation at break of less than 5%. It is suitable for various applications, particularly in the packaging industry for heat sealers and in the composite aircraft industry as a release surface. The product is available in various widths and roll lengths, with options for a liner.
PTFE films provide a conformable release surface and exhibit a remarkably low coefficient of friction and non-stick properties. PTFE films have high temperature resistance and are virtually unaffected by all chemicals. At elevated temperatures, PTFE film still retains excellent tensile strength. Service temperatures range from -100°F to +500°F (-73°F to +260°C).
Film applications include high temperature coil and capacitor wrapping, composite bonding, masking, and conveyor release linings.
