Saint-Gobain Coating Solutions Plasma Transfer Arc Welding & Cladding Equipment

Description
Patented PTA-PHE Technology Saint-Gobain Coating Solutions designs and manufactures plasma transfer arc (PTA) welding equipment for hardfacing applications. In fact, our PTA-PHE technology leads the industry in providing a highly cost-effective automated system that protects against abrasion, corrosion, oxidation, friction and thermal wearing. PHE stands for plasma high efficiency. This technology produces very thin coatings – from 0.4 – 2 mm (0.02 – 0.08”) with high deposit efficiency and deposit speed, as well as low dilution rates. These features combine to save time and money while imparting hard, corrosion resistant single-layer coatings that extend the service life of components in demanding applications. Compared to other welding processes -- including electrode, TIG & GMAW -- Saint-Gobain’s PTA-PHE system imparts: Low dilution = Reaching the hardness of the deposited material in a single layer Better corrosion resistance Low heat affected zone (HAZ) Finer dendritic structure = Higher abrasion resistance Higher hardness Deposit close to the final geometry = Reduction of the machining time High deposit efficiency (>95%)

Compared to other welding processes -- including electrode, TIG & GMAW -- Saint-Gobain’s PTA-PHE system imparts:

  • Low dilution =
    • Reaching the hardness of the deposited material in a single layer
    • Better corrosion resistance
  • Low heat affected zone (HAZ)
  • Finer dendritic structure =
    • Higher abrasion resistance
    • Higher hardness
  • Deposit close to the final geometry =
    • Reduction of the machining time
  • High deposit efficiency (>95%)
