CHR¬Æ 2975-8R is a glass-silicone pressure sensitive adhesive tape designed for high-temperature applications, particularly in the plasma spray process. It features a silicone rubber/fiberglass cloth backing coated with a high-temperature adhesive, allowing it to withstand continuous temperatures up to 260¬8C. The tape is engineered to resist abrasion from grit blasting and to prevent slippage after application, making it suitable for protecting areas adjacent to parts being plasma sprayed. The tape has a total thickness of 0.267 mm (10.5 mil) and offers excellent strength and flexibility, facilitating easy wrapping around complex shapes while minimizing wrinkling during cable flexing. It has an adhesion to steel of 5.5 N/cm (50 oz/in) and a tensile strength of 263 N/cm (150 lb/in). The dielectric strength is rated at 7,000 volts, and the tape can operate in temperatures ranging from -73¬8C to +260¬8C (-100¬8F to +500¬8F). Available in master rolls of 33 m vó 1219 mm (36 yd vó 48 in), the tape can be slit to various widths and is offered with either a yellow PVC liner or a fluorosilicone liner. The primary applications are in the aerospace industry, particularly for jet engine manufacturers and maintenance facilities, where it protects components during the plasma spray coating process.
CHR tape solutions include a broad range of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes (PSATs) supporting the most demanding extreme and exacting applications. Substrates include Polyester with silicone, rubber, acrylic, and proprietary adhesive systems.
