The 204HP series is a very high purity hollow sphere powder with a white color. The material is designed to be low activity and will pass the pending European regulation of < 0.5 bequerels per gram also known as low NORM. The low silica levels reduce sintering with up to 2x coating life versus other materials. . The benefit of the spherical shape is more uniform build up rates due to uniform delivery of the powder without pulsing of the feed lines. The benefit of hollow particles is more complete melting which is important when maximizing deposit efficiencies with difficult to melt zirconias. Crystal phase is also controlled to minimize the monoclinic phase of zirconia.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Due to its resistance to thermal shock and particle erosion at high temperatures, Saint-Gobain zirconia oxide is used for thermal barrier applications. Powder specification should be chosen depending on the application and porosity levels desired.
