Labinal Power Systems provides the best of electrical energy to power the whole of the aircraft systems. The electrical generation consists in converting a part of the engines' or APU's mechanical energy into electrical energy. Our equipment are onboard all types of commercial, regional, business aircraft and helicopters.
AC Generation
GCU
The Generator Control Unit (GCU) is part of the aircraft's electrical power generating system and supervises its associated AC generating channel. In addition to controlling the generator, the generator line contactor and protecting against faults in its generating channel, the GCU contains Built-In-Test Equipment (BITE) for fault detection and diagnosis as well as communications circuits which allow fault diagnostics and status data to be passed to the aircraft computers. Depending on customers' requirements, the GCU can be designed to include ground power control and protection to reduce the number of standalone boxes. This type of GCU is called a Generator and Ground Power Control Unit (GGPCU). The GCU/GGPCU control and protection features can be implemented in software or firmware depending on the complexity of the control unit.
Generators & Starters
From a few kVA up to 250kVA, Labinal Power Systems has developed a large number of AC generators for civil and military applications.
The generators / starter generators are air or oil cooled and Labinal Power Systems can provide a number of air inlet and outlet duct options to match the aircraft's ducting requirements.
Labinal Power Systems' major references of AC generation for civil application are : A380 (JV Aerolec with Thales AES), MA60/600, Global Express (5000&6000). As for military aircraft, our systems are onboard : A400M (JV Aerolec with Thales AES), CN235, C295, C130J, F15 and Helicopters : AW101, CH-47, 292, CH-53K, B525.
DC Generation
GCU
The DC Generator Control Units (GCU) are convection cooled, bolt down units that contain a voltage regulator, control and protection circuits for coordinated system performance during normal and abnormal system operating conditions. The GCU can be provided with analog or digital based control electronics to match with the aircraft system requirements. The GCU can also be integrated into the aircraft primary distribution box to provide weight and space savings.
Generators & Starters
Labinal Power Systems has developed over 330 models of brushed starter generators with output current ranging between 150Amp to 550Amp for many aircraft and helicopter applications. The designs make use of common subassemblies across the product family wherever possible to make best use of the accumulated experience in the ongoing development of new machines. The starter generator operates as a motor to provide torque for engine starting and as a generator to provide 28V DC electrical power after engine starting. Labinal Power Systems also provides a range of DC generators without the start function. The starter generators / generators are air cooled and Labinal Power Systems can provide a number of air inlet and outlet duct options to match with the aircraft ducting requirements.
