At the heart of the FUSION system is a real-time data display that shows critical fuel information to the crew. Using a sunlight readable color liquid crystal display (LCD), the data is presented as simple numeric and analog color-coded bars.
The wheelhouse can be a busy place and so the analog bar display allows the crew to read the data at a glance and optimize fuel use as it occurs. It’s well known that small changes in throttle create dramatic changes in fuel consumption, and lead to significant savings in operating costs.
The DAU not only displays real-time data to the crew, but also continuously records all the data onto its integrated hard-drive memory. The data is then downloaded by either the USB port, located on the DAU front bezel, or by optional satellite or GSM-based communication systems.
