The MC33880PEW is a configurable octal serial switch designed for high side and low side switching applications. It features eight outputs that can be controlled via an 8-bit serial peripheral interface (SPI), with two outputs also capable of direct microcontroller control for pulse-width modulation (PWM) applications. The device operates within a voltage range of 5.5 V to 24.5 V and is compatible with both 3.3 V and 5.0 V logic levels. This power distribution switch includes several protective features such as internal output voltage clamping (up to 45 V for low side and -20 V for high side), reverse battery protection, and independent shutdown capabilities for each output. It has a maximum standby current of 5.0 OºA at 13 V and operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -40¬8C to 125¬8C. The device is housed in a 32-pin SOICW package, making it suitable for various applications requiring reliable load driving and fault management.
