The ADM4850ARMZ is a half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for high-speed data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It supports a data rate of up to 115 kbps and is compliant with EIA standards. The device features reduced slew rates to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and includes true fail-safe receiver inputs that ensure a logic high output when the inputs are open or shorted. With a maximum supply current of 5 ¬µA in shutdown mode, the ADM4850ARMZ allows for efficient power management. It can accommodate up to 256 transceivers on a single bus, and its outputs are high-Z when disabled or powered off, preventing bus overload. The transceiver operates over a common-mode voltage range of -7 V to +12 V and is specified for a temperature range of -40¬8C to +85¬8C. The ADM4850ARMZ is available in an 8-lead Mini Small Outline Package (MSOP) and is qualified for automotive applications, making it suitable for various low-power and EMI-sensitive systems, including industrial control and local area networks.
