The Panasonic AW-005A features high processing speed and advanced flexibility. High performance digital servos and custom IC chips reduced the size of this compact robot while increasing the performance. The high speed 32 bit RISC CPU operates 4 times faster than the conventional 16 bit CPU. This results in a quicker, more accurate position feedback and quick, sharp motions. High acceleration and deceleration reduce the tact time for the AW-005C. Operation training time is reduced by placing all functions on the teach pendant and using an English dialog system. Flexibility is further increased by the ability to simultaneous edit and operate. Multiple mounting positions and multiple communications options increase production and future expandability.
