The RT9527A is a low-cost single-cell Li-ion battery charger designed for low current charge applications. It operates with input voltages ranging from 4.4V to 6V and can be powered by an AC adapter or USB port. The charger features adjustable charging current settings from 10mA to 600mA, which can be configured using an external resistor. Key functionalities include a control algorithm that manages pre-charge, fast-charge, and constant voltage modes, ensuring optimal charging performance. The device incorporates internal thermal feedback circuitry to regulate temperature and protect against overheating. It also includes under-voltage and over-voltage protection for the input supply, as well as a programmable safe charge timer to prevent overcharging.
