The iW1830-00 is an off-line digital PWM controller integrated with a power MOSFET, designed for AC/DC power supply applications. It operates in quasi-resonant mode and utilizes digital control technology to enhance efficiency and reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The device features primary-side feedback, eliminating the need for opto-isolators and simplifying the design process. It provides tight constant-voltage regulation across varying line and load conditions and includes built-in protections against output short-circuit, over-voltage, and over-current. This controller supports a maximum output power of 15W and is suitable for universal input applications with a voltage range of 85V AC to 264V AC. The iW1830-00 is particularly effective in home appliance and monitor adapter applications, achieving less than 50mW no-load power consumption and fast dynamic load response. Its adaptively controlled soft-start feature allows for smooth startup with a wide range of capacitive loads. The product is housed in a 7-lead PDIP package and is RoHS compliant.
