The ISL99227BFRZ-TR5784 is a Smart Power Stage (SPS) module designed for use with Intersil's ISL68xxx/69xxx Digital Multiphase controllers. It features integrated high accuracy current and temperature monitors, which enhance system performance by eliminating the need for a DCR sensing network. The module supports an input voltage range of +4.5V to +18V and can handle up to 60A of DC current. This module is available in two variants: the ISL99227 with a 3.3V compatible tri-state PWM input and the ISL99227B with a 5.0V compatible tri-state PWM input. It includes comprehensive fault protection features such as undervoltage lockout (UVLO), over-temperature, and overcurrent protection, along with an open-drain fault reporting output. The device is housed in a thermally enhanced 5x5 PQFN package, which minimizes PCB space requirements. Applications for the ISL99227BFRZ-TR5784 include high-frequency and high-efficiency voltage regulator modules (VRMs) for microprocessors, graphics, and memory regulators, as well as point-of-load (POL) DC/DC converters in server and cloud computing environments.
