The IS82C52 is a high-performance programmable Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) and Baud Rate Generator (BRG) integrated on a single chip. It operates at data rates up to 1M baud with a 16MHz clock frequency and supports 72 selectable baud rates using a standard crystal or external frequency source. The device features a programmable buffered clock output, which can be configured to provide either a buffered oscillator or a 16X baud rate clock for general-purpose use. The IS82C52 is designed for low power operation, consuming approximately 1mA per MHz, and requires a single +5V power supply. It includes an interrupt mode with mask capability and is compatible with the 80C86 microprocessor bus. The operating temperature range for the IS82C52 is -40¬8C to +85¬8C, making it suitable for various applications. Additionally, it is available in a PLCC package and is RoHS compliant with Pb-free options.
