Reid Supply Grooved Pin DL-162

Description
Solid non-threaded press fit fastener. Grooved pins differ from other press fit fasteners such as dowel pins, in that the holes do not need to be reamed prior to insertion. Commonly used in place of taper pins, rivets, set screws and keys. When the expanded portion of the pin is compressed into a hole a few thousands wider than the nominal diameter of the pin, radial forces lock the pin securely into the drilled hole. Made of low carbon steel, zinc plated with full length tapered grooves for ease of assembly. . This Grooved Pin has groove length of 1.500 in and pin diameter of .250 in.
