Our 0418 series features the standard IEC-60320-C14 Plug with a 2-splitter (Y-Cord) that has the IEC-60320-C7 Connector, and the Right Angle IEC-60320-C5 Connector.
Referred to as Universal Power Cords, these cables have the unique distinction of being tri-rated since they carry the UL, C-UL and VDE approvals. That means these cords are approved for use in domestic North American markets and for use internationally. Quail Electronics is proud to be the only producer of truly universal power cords.
These Universal Jumper Cords feature the standard IEC-60320-C14 Plug which usually connects to a power distribution unit (PDU) and then to your components using the IEC-60320-C7 Connector, and the Right Angle IEC-60320-C5 Connector . The 0418 series of power cords are available in varied lengths, allowing you to clear space for airflow, maintain an unobstructed exhaust port, and increase the life and operational capacity of your equipment.
These multi-leg IEC power cords are used in situations where you need to power 2 devices, 1 of which has an IEC-60320-C6 inlet, the other of which has a C8 inlet. Examples of devices that use the C6 inlet are 3-conductor (grounded) laptops, notebooks, stereos, game consoles, electric razors. Examples of devices that use the C8 inlet are 2-conductor (un-grounded) laptops, notebooks, stereos, game consoles, electric razors. On the supply end they plug into any IEC-60320-C13 outlet or connector, and on the opposite end, the C5 and C7 connectors are referred to as Mickey-Mouse and Figure-8 connectors (respectively). These are considered space-savers because they provide power to 2 devices while only using 1 outlet.
This right angle power cord is ideal for use in confined spaces because it eliminates stress placed on the conductors and strain relief. The definition of a right angle connector is that when facing the equipment with the connector installed ground-pin-up, the cord trails away to your right-hand side.
The 0418.032 carries the UL, C-UL, and VDE approvals and is rated at 2.5A - 250V.
