The ProLinx family Modbus Plus to HART Multi-drop communications module (5307-MBP-HART) creates a powerful connection between devices on a Modbus Plus network and HART devices. The module is a stand-alone DIN rail-mounted protocol gateway that provides one Modbus Plus configurable DB9F port and four HART Multi-drop channels.
The Modbus Plus protocol driver exists in dual Modbus Plus Ports (MBP). The driver can be configured on an individual port basis as either a master or a slave to interface with other Modbus Plus devices. The Modbus port is fully configurable, providing a great deal of flexibility.
The HART protocol driver works as a Master on four (HART) or eight channels (HART2 – not available on certain configurations) per interface card, depending on implementation. Each channel is individually configurable.
