The ProLinx family IEC60870-5-104 Server to A-B Remote I/O Adapter communications module (5210-104S-RIO) creates a powerful connection between devices on an IEC 104 Server network and Remote I/O devices. The module is a stand-alone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway that provides one Ethernet port and one Remote I/O port.
The 104S module accepts commands from an attached master unit on the network and generates unsolicited messages.
The RIO interface is an adapter (slave) which can be connected to a scanner (master) that controls the data transfer. The module also supports limited high speed data transfer via the Input and Output images.
