Prosig USA, Inc. Brake Noise Measurement

Prosig have worked closely with some of the leading brake specialists to develop the Brake Noise Measurement System. The system consists of a Prosig P8020 data acquisition unit equipped with analog inputs for microphones and accelerometers. It also has inputs for CAN-bus and has integrated GPS tracking capaility. An 8-channel thermocouple input module is also included. The DATS software provides data capture with a selection of automatic and manual triggers to detect brake noise events. During the test all data is logged at a low rate for reference purposes and, when an event is triggered, data is captured at a higher rate for later analysis. The data is captured using a pre-trigger so that data leading up to event detection is also stored. Data can be captured for hours, days or even weeks. Software tools are supplied to collate and report on the results. Breakdowns are given for individual wheels, front & rear and the severity of any noise events.
