The Pickering Series 200 is a range of surface mount reed relays with dry and mercury wetted contacts, available in configurations including coaxial types for RF up to 5GHz and high-speed digital switching with step response times under 30ps. The part number 200-1-B-12/2D is a 1 Form B (energize to break) relay with a 12V coil, packaged in a plastic housing with internal mu-metal shielding to prevent magnetic interaction during side-by-side mounting. It operates with a maximum contact current of 1.2A, supports switching power up to 10W at 200V, and has an operate time of 0.5ms and release time of 0.2ms. Insulation resistance exceeds 10¹² Ω. The package is rated for reflow soldering and measures 17.25mm x 15.25mm x 6.0mm. An internal diode is included, as indicated by the /2D suffix.

The special high temperature plastic package will withstand the temperatures associated with Infra-red or vapour phase reflow soldering processes. A flexible inner encapsulant protects the sensitive glass/metal reed switch seals - this is a very big advantage over the more usual hard moulded package.
