The Pickering Series 200 is a surface mount reed relay designed for high-speed digital and RF switching applications up to 5GHz, available in dry or mercury wetted configurations. The 200-1-A-5/4 variant is a 1 Form A switch with a 5V coil, rated for 10 watts at 500V, featuring an insulation resistance greater than 10^12 ohms, an operate time of 0.5 ms, and a release time of 0.2 ms. It is encapsulated in a high-temperature plastic package with internal mu-metal shielding, compatible with infrared and vapor phase reflow soldering. The relay has a typical capacitance of 2.5 pF across the closed switch and 0.1 pF across the open switch, with dimensions of 17.25 mm × 15.25 mm × 6.0 mm.

The special high temperature plastic package will withstand the temperatures associated with Infra-red or vapour phase reflow soldering processes. A flexible inner encapsulant protects the sensitive glass/metal reed switch seals - this is a very big advantage over the more usual hard moulded package.
