The Series 102 is a range of subminiature coaxial reed relays for high-frequency applications up to 3 GHz, offering low insertion loss, good isolation, and excellent VSWR in 50 ohms systems. The 102F package is a flatpack design with axial terminations soldered directly to a 50 ohms stripline, enabling performance up to 3 GHz. This part is a Form A (energize to make) relay with a 12 V coil, Switch No. 2 rated for 20 W at 200 V, a contact resistance of 0.10 Ω, an insulation resistance greater than 10^12 Ω, and a typical switch capacitance of 0.1 pF across the open contacts. The relay has a 0.5 ms operate time and 0.2 ms release time. The layout requires a custom PCB cut-out for direct stripline mounting, with coil connections and screen foil soldered to respective PCB traces and ground planes.

Two package types are available, both displaying outstanding RF performance in terms of low insertion loss, good isolation and excellent VSWR characteristics in 50 ohms systems. These relays have good coil drive levels making them ideal for portable applications or where space is at a premium. If an even smaller RF relay is required, look at the Series 109RF or 111 RF.
