Phoenix Contact introduces industrial-strength Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) modules, which make it possible to use the Ethernet to transfer not only data, but also electricity. The modules make it quick and inexpensive to power end devices such as wireless LAN access points, IP telephones, web cams, Ethernet hubs and other appliances in locations where supplying power separately would be inconvenient. The FL IF 2PSE-F module offers two PoE ports for the Modular Managed Switch (MMS). It is an “endspan” device with power sourcing equipment (PSE) integrated in the switch/hub. Depending on the specific requirements, users can freely combine 8-24 ports in twisted pair, PoE and various glass fiber media. End devices with PoE can be monitored by a higher-level management system that is also capable of turning the devices on and off remotely. The FL PSE 2TX module is a compact stand-alone solution that converts two standard Ethernet ports to Power-over-Ethernet ports. It is a “midspan” device, with PSE located between the network and the powered device, offering a simple expansion of existing network infrastructure. The module generates the 48 V power supply required by IEEE802.3af Power-over-Ethernet from a 24 V DC connection. Its plug-and-play technology requires no configuration. The devices are UL-Approved and conform with IEEE802.3af. The use of a central uninterruptible power supply (UPS) further increases the failsafe functioning of end devices. Features: 2 PoE Supply Ports No Configuration Required Automatic Detection of Connected Devices Can Operate on 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps Networks Convenient Diagnostic and Status Indicators Redundant 24 VDC Supply Possible Connection for Optimum Functional Earth Ground Certificates/Approva ls: CUL, UL, CUL-EX LIS, UL-EX LIS
