The SO-832-28ZI is a thru-hole threaded standoff from PennEngineering® designed for permanent installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.025 inches (0.63 mm). It utilizes a self-clinching design, allowing for easy installation by pressing into properly sized round holes. This standoff is suitable for use in steel or aluminum sheets with a hardness of Rockwell B scale 80 or Brinell hardness 150 or less. The SO series is specifically recommended for applications requiring reliable mounting, spacing, or stacking of panels and components. The product is available with optional nickel plating for enhanced corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in various environments.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
