SL-0518-1ZI is a self-clinching locknut with a TRI-DENT® locking feature, designed to prevent loosening in vibration-prone applications. It has a 5/16-18 thread and is rated for use in materials with a Rockwell B hardness of 80 or less and Brinell hardness of 150 or less. The nut achieves 3-cycle locking performance using steel socket head cap screws of property class 12.9 with a thermal oxide and light oil finish. Mounting dimensions include a minimum sheet thickness of 0.054 in, maximum sheet thickness of 0.056 in, a hole diameter of 0.413 in, a clinch height of 0.500 in, and a minimum distance from the hole centerline to the edge of 0.38 in. The locking feature is a deformed thread design with no nylon or metal distortion, and the fastener maintains strength up to 800 °F (426 °C).
