The S-M8-2ZI self-clinching nut from PennEngineering® is designed for permanent installation in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel sheets. It features a serrated clinching ring that prevents rotation after installation, ensuring a secure fit. This nut type provides load-bearing threads in thin sheets, offering high pushout and torque-out resistance. It is suitable for use in materials with a hardness of HRB 80 or less and HB 150 or less. The installation process involves placing the nut in a properly sized hole and applying a parallel squeezing force to embed it into the sheet material. Custom sizes are available upon request.
Type S, SS, CLS, and CLSS nuts provide load-bearing threads in thin sheets with high pushout and torque-out resistance.
Type SP, PEM 300® nuts provide strong load-bearing threads in stainless steel sheets as thin as .030”.
Types S and SS are recommended for use in steel or aluminum sheets HRB (Rockwell “B” scale) 80 or less and HB (Hardness Brinell) 150 or less.
