Self-Clinching Nut S-M2-5-1ZC from PennEngineering® is designed for permanent installation in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel sheets. This nut type features a serrated clinching ring that prevents rotation after installation, ensuring reliable performance. It provides load-bearing threads in thin sheets, offering high pushout and torque-out resistance. The installation process involves placing the nut in a properly sized hole and applying a parallel squeezing force, which allows the surrounding sheet metal to cold flow into an undercut, securing the nut in place. This product is suitable for applications requiring strong, durable fastening solutions in thin materials. Custom sizes are available upon request.
Type S, SS, CLS, and CLSS nuts provide load-bearing threads in thin sheets with high pushout and torque-out resistance.
Type SP, PEM 300® nuts provide strong load-bearing threads in stainless steel sheets as thin as .030”.
Types S and SS are recommended for use in steel or aluminum sheets HRB (Rockwell “B” scale) 80 or less and HB (Hardness Brinell) 150 or less.
