BSO series blind-threaded self-clinching standoffs are designed for permanent installation into metal sheets through a round hole, providing a flush, closed-end mount on the opposite side. They are suitable for steel or aluminum sheets with a Rockwell B hardness of 80 or less and Brinell hardness of 150 or less. The BSO-032 variant has a 0.050 inch nominal thread diameter, installs into a minimum hole size of 0.050 inch, and requires a minimum distance to sheet edge of 0.31 inch. It is available in lengths up to 1.062 inch, with a barrel length of 0.281 inch for the 032 thread size. These standoffs are not recommended for stainless steel sheets unless specified as BSO4 with nickel plating.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
If you require a standoff which we do not offer in this bulletin, please contact us. We will be happy to work with you to satisfy your special need.
