Castrol Way Lubricants are specially formulated for the sliding ways of machine tools. These oils are fortified with selected oiliness, extreme pressure additives and a special material to impart tackiness and adhesiveness. Castrol Way Lubricants are noted for their unusual ability to overcome the stick slip motion ordinarily associated with slow moving machine tool parts. They reduce machine tool carriage chatter and possess the necessary adhesive characteristics to prevent squeezing out of the lubricant. Castrol Way Lubricants meet the P47 and P50 specification for the stick slip test of the Cincinnati Lamb. Castrol Way Lubricants 32 meets the requirements for Cincinnati Lamb P-53 specifications.
Castrol Way Lubricants meet the exacting demands in the following applications; planners, grinders, horizontal boring machines, shapers, jig borers, milling machines and other equipment involving moving parts.
Note: Castrol Way Lubricants 32 can be recommended for machine tool applications that require a dual-purpose hydraulic-way oil. In these hydraulically operated machine tools the slideways are lubricated by oil from the hydraulic system reservoir.
