larger image Syndustrial Gas Compressor Oil is a premium quality, synthetic blend lubricant developed for use as a crankcase oil and for cylinder lubrication in reciprocating compressors in natural gas service. It is specially formulated to minimize the effects of gas dilution and oil absorption in this type of service. Syndustrial Gas Compressor Oil is available in one viscosity grade: ISO 150. It is formulated with a carefully balanced blend of synthetic ester and hydrotreated paraffinic base oils and select additives to provide excellent service and protection over a wide temperature range. It has excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability at high temperatures to help minimize deposit formation, and has a high viscosity index and good low-temperature properties for year-round use. It protects against rust and corrosion, and contains a special inhibitor to resist corrosion caused by hydrogen sulfide in sour gas. The synthetic blend formulation provides enhanced oxidation resistance and lower volatility at high temperatures compared to conventional mineral oils, which can result in extended service intervals, lower oil consumption and reduced maintenance. Syndustrial Gas Compressor Oil is formulated to minimize the effects of gas dilution and oil absorption typically encountered in natural gas service. The use of synthetic ester base fluid helps reduce the solubility of hydrocarbon gases in the oil. In combination with high starting viscosity, this minimizes viscosity loss due to gas dilution, which can cause cylinder scoring and high wear rates. Similarly, there is less absorption of oil into the gas stream, which helps reduce oil consumption and lubricant carryover, and helps prevent loss of the protective oil film from the cylinder walls.
