The MC14017BDG is a five-stage Johnson decade counter designed for high-speed operation with spike-free outputs. It features a built-in code converter and provides ten decoded outputs that are normally low, transitioning to high at their respective decimal time periods. The output changes occur on the positive edge of the clock pulse, making it suitable for frequency division applications and decimal decode display applications. This device operates with a supply voltage range of 3.0 Vdc to 18 Vdc and is capable of driving two low-power TTL loads or one low-power Schottky TTL load across its rated temperature range. It includes a carry-out output for cascading and supports fully static operation with a DC clock input circuit that allows for slow rise times. The MC14017BDG is also a pin-for-pin replacement for the CD4017B and features triple diode protection on all inputs. The device is qualified for automotive applications under AEC-Q100 and is PPAP capable. It is Pb-free and compliant with RoHS standards.
