FAN6204AMX is a secondary-side synchronous rectification controller designed to drive synchronous rectifier MOSFETs, enhancing efficiency in power supply applications. It is suitable for use in flyback converters and forward freewheeling rectification, operating effectively in continuous conduction mode (CCM), discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), and quasi-resonant (QR) modes. The device employs a linear-predict timing-control technique that eliminates the need for current-sense circuitry, providing noise immunity. The FAN6204AMX features PWM frequency tracking and secondary-side winding voltage detection, making it compatible with both fixed and variable frequency systems. In light-load conditions, the internal Green Mode reduces power consumption by halting synchronous rectification switching. The controller operates with an ultra-low VDD threshold voltage, accommodating output voltage applications ranging from 5 V to 24 V. It includes over-voltage protection (OVP) for the VDD pin, ensuring the safety of the connected MOSFETs. This device is packaged in an 8-pin SOP format and is Pb-free, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.
