Newport MKS Manual Linear Stage, 0.63 in. Travel, Ball Bearings, 6-32 & 1/4-20 Threads SDS40

Description
The SDS40 Linear Translation Stage incorporates maximum performance and 0.63 inch travel into a 1.57 x 1.57 x 0.41 inch footprint. Especially designed for industrial OEM system integration, the stainless steel construction features higher rigidity, superior clean room acceptability, and better long-term stability than aluminum stages. Our novel manufacturing methods, based on fewer machined parts, allows for a low-profile design with higher performance. The SDS40 has a 15 lb (67 N) load capacity and can be directly stacked into an XY-configuration, and an XYZ assembly can be built using the available 90° angle brackets. For mounting SDS40 stages to optical tables with a 1 inch (25 mm) grid or to other larger scale components, use our slotted base plates. For rotational movement, these stages are compatible with the RS Series Rotation Stages and GON Series Goniometers. Sturdy Travel for Moderate Loads Our novel manufacturing methods, based on fewer machined parts, allows for a low-profile design with higher performance for moderate load capacities up to 36 lbs. (160 N). They can be stacked into multi-axis configurations with 90° angle brackets available for vertical motion. (To mount M-SDS25 and SDS40 stages to optical tables having 1 in. (25 mm) or larger grid, Slotted Bases are needed and sold separately.) Optimized Bearing Contact Profile for Smooth Travel Compared to classic single-row ball bearing V-groove profile, SDS stages feature unique bearing way profile which provides extended contact with the stainless steel ball bearings to achieve improved stiffness, higher load capacity and optimized stress distribution at the end of the contacts. Side Mounted Actuators for Minimum Footprint Side-mounted micrometers minimizes the overall stage footprint while maintaining a low profile. These stages also feature an easy access locking mechanism for each axis. SDS Stages are available in three square sizes with sides measuring 25 mm, 40 mm, and 65 mm, and are supplied with a BM Series Micrometer already installed. Slotted Base Plates Slotted base plates are available for versatile mounting of SDS stages to optical tables or other stages. Please see the accessory section for more information.
