The AJS20-2 Adjustment Screw offers 2 inch (50.8 mm) precision travel obtained with included small adjustment knob and has precision rolled threads for exceptionally smooth adjustment. They are ideal for use with Newport optical mounts, stages and most micrometer-compatibl
e components, and are a cost-effective alternative to micrometers where position readout is not required. High-precision 20 TPI, rolled stainless steel threads are mated with the collet and proprietary lubricant for stictionless movement. The standard 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) diameter collet is threaded with a nut for mounting to optical mounts and stages. A lock screw on the side secures the adjustment screw from turning.
Patented Non-influencing Locks
Our patented thread-pitch lock secures the adjustment screw from turning by simply tightening a setscrew. Engaging or disengaging the thread-pitch lock, now standard, won't influence the screw position. Versions with knobs have the lock screw on the side, while hex versions have the lock screw conveniently located on the end next to the drive screw. A single wrench is used for both adjustment and locking. Non-locking, 12.7 mm travel versions are also available for use in optical mounts.
Sized to Fit Mounts and Stages
Newport's AJS adjustment screws have 9.5 mm industry standard mounting shanks allowing them to fit most optical mounts and linear stages where micrometer heads can be used.
Optional Adjustment Knobs
AJS adjustment screws are offered with a knob or hex adjustment. and stainless steel knobs are available as an accessory for use with the hex adjustment versions. The knobs feature an integral 5/64-in. (2-mm) hex hey for increased adjustment sensitivity.
