Because the 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) diameter wedge uses simple Fresnel reflection rather than a dielectric coating, it operates over a wide wavelength range. And you can vary the pick-off amount by changing the angle of incidence. Unlike commonly used optic flats, the wedge prevents interference from the front and back surfaces.
