Historical Document.
This standard test method is intended for use in determinations of low concentrations of phosphonate residuals in brines from oil and gas operations and other industrial sources. This standard is intended for use by oil and gas operators, service companies, and others to determine residual phosphonate concentrations in systems being treated with phosphonate inhibitors to monitor their treating program and provide data relative to treatment or retreatment options. Organic phosphonate compounds are commonly contained in the chemical treatments used as mineral scale and corrosion inhibitors in oil and gas operations, water injection/disposal operations, and other industrial applications.
