IHS ESDU Stiffness of loaded flat strips under sinusoidally distributed bending couples at their edges (for use in local buckling calculations). 73007

Description
ESDU 73007 provides curves to determine the stiffnesses of long flat strips initially subjected to in-plane biaxial direct stresses. The stiffnesses define the distributed edge rotations and corresponding edge couples; they are used to calculate the local buckling stress of a panel or strut that is composed of, or can be idealised to a model composed of, flat thin-walled elements in which the bending stiffnesses along and across the elements differ. Their use is explained in ESDU Struct 02.01.28.
