The MP1038EM-LF is a fixed operating frequency inverter controller designed to drive cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) for backlighting applications in liquid crystal displays. It operates in a full-bridge configuration using four external N-Channel MOSFETs, converting unregulated DC input voltages ranging from 10V to 32V into nearly pure sine waves necessary for CCFL operation. This controller features an adjustable operating frequency set by an external resistor, with a typical range of 20kHz to 100kHz. It includes built-in fault management capabilities such as open lamp protection, secondary over-current protection, and a dual-mode fault timer. The device supports both analog and burst mode dimming controlled by external signals, and it can synchronize with an external clock to reduce display scan interference. The MP1038EM-LF is available in TSSOP28 and SOIC28 packages and operates within a temperature range of -20¬8C to +85¬8C.
