The user-friendly mechanism allows for easy operation: the user pulls out and twists the knob to insert the probe until it bottoms out, then releases the knob to secure it. This design ensures that spring pressure maintains contact between the probe tip and the measuring surface, facilitating quicker response times and more reliable measurements. Many models include a rubber O-ring that prevents oil leakage up to 50 psi (3.4 bar) at temperatures reaching 260¬8C, while high-temperature variants can operate at up to 450¬8C. Additionally, nylon versions offer electrical insulation, making them suitable for a variety of applications.
