ARMATEX¬Æ SF 90 is a heavy weight fiberglass fabric that is coated on both sides with a silicone rubber compound, resulting in a finished weight of 90 ounces per square yard. This product is designed for applications requiring durability in severe conditions, making it suitable for the construction of removable insulation pads, weld spatter protection, heat shields, and splash curtains. The average physical properties include a thickness of 0.125 inches (3.175 mm) and a temperature rating for the base fabric of up to 1000¬8F (538¬8C). The silicone coating can withstand temperatures from -65¬8F to 450¬8F (-54¬8C to 232¬8C), with transient exposure capabilities up to 600¬8F (315¬8C). The fabric is available in a standard width of 40 inches (1.016 meters) and comes in rolls of 25 yards (22.8 meters). ARMATEX¬Æ SF 90 can also be certified to various standards, including MIL-I 24244 and ASTM E162.
